Me in my room with only two of my Green Day pictures. There are collectively 7 in my room. Along with 8 posters of Johnny Depp, 3 of My Chemical Romance, 5 of Lady Gaga, 3 of Nightmare Before Christmas, 2 of Criss Angel, and some random pictures of Edgar Allan Poe floating around.
I like looking at faces.
"The good times and the bad times both will pass. It will pass. It will get easier. But the fact that it will get easier does not mean that it doesn’t hurt now. And when people try to minimize your pain they are doing you a disservice. And when you try to minimize your own pain you’re doing yourself a disservice. Don’t do that. The truth is that it hurts because it’s real. It hurts because it mattered. And that’s an important thing to acknowledge to yourself. But that doesn’t mean that it won’t end, that it won’t get better. Because it will."

I have bad eyesight.
Supposedly, it is recommended that while a person reads he/she should look away from the text, computer screen, magazine, or whatever that person may be reading every 10 minutes. That person should stare off into something else for just a minute or two, perhaps at an open window or a stain on the wall. After those 60-120 seconds, said person can resume reading for the next 10 minutes and repeat this process for as long as this person intends to read. The human body — more so the human eyes — are not accustomed for long feats of reading. Our bodies are not adept to becoming immersed in a novel or article without damaging our eyes despite how much more biologically advanced we are as a species than our contender, primates.
I have bad eyesight. Despite the wearing away of my corneas and the strain put on my pupils, I cannot simply turn away from a suspenseful novel to stare fixated at a tree or some guy passing by with his pants way too low for the public eye. For me, this book has now become my world. To simply turn away from it so abruptly, to betray my imagination that has designed this new world based on the words and descriptions of this author, would be a worse act than the destruction of my eyesight. So maybe one day I will have to wear binoculars just to read my own shopping list or undergo laser eye surgery because they simply don’t make glasses strong enough for my eyes. But, whether my human body can handle it or not, I love to read and I love to write. As long as I can envision this utopia separate from the daily world of reality, that’s all that matters to me.
The doctor tells me that I have bad eyesight. But, in my opinion, I see perfectly fine.
